Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a History Stone?
A History Stone is a durable 4×4 in. Ivory Stone engraved with a QR code. Scan it with any smartphone camera and it opens a unique tribute page you build yourself: photos, a short video, and the story behind the life (or pet, home, business, team, or career) it's honoring.
How much does it cost, and what's included?
You can create a tribute page for free — one per account — and it stays online permanently. To make it a physical, scannable keepsake, a single History Stone is $49.99, which includes the tribute page and its QR code. If you would like extra physical copies of the same stone — for another family member, a second grave site, or just as a keepsake — each additional stone is a flat $19.99, whether you add it to your first order or come back for it later from your account. Shipping is calculated separately at checkout based on your zip code.
What does the Ivory Stone look like?
This 4×4 in. Ivory Stone links to the exact same tribute page and QR code whether you order one or several copies. Pick whichever fits the memorial, headstone, or display it'll sit alongside.
Is this only for memorializing someone who has passed away?
Not at all. When you build your page you can choose Person, Pet, Home/Property, Business, Team, Career, or Other as the subject — so a History Stone works just as well for a retirement gift, a family home, a beloved pet, or a milestone anniversary as it does for a memorial.
What can I put on the tribute page?
Their name, relationship to you, city/county, state, and country, plus important dates; up to 12 photos on a free page and effectively unlimited on a paid one; one video up to 30 seconds; and a written story. If it applies, you can also add a branch-of-service badge and banner message for military or first-responder tributes, and choose a background color and theme to match. Paid tributes can additionally replace the header banner and the circle emoji with your own pictures, and preserve a loved one’s Facebook posts and photos.
Can I edit the page after I order?
Yes. Every tribute — free or paid — includes 30 days of free unlimited edits from the day it is created. After that the page stays online exactly as you left it until you buy a single edit ($5.99 each) or subscribe to Unlimited Edits for $12.99/year (auto-renews), either of which lets you keep changing it.
How long does the tribute page stay online?
Permanently. Free and paid pages alike stay online for good — there is no visibility window and nothing you buy keeps a page alive. What ends after 30 days is your ability to change it: the page freezes exactly as you left it until you buy an edit or the Unlimited Edits subscription. It stays visible and scannable the entire time either way.
Do I have to subscribe to anything to keep the page up?
No. No subscription is required to keep a tribute page online — every page is permanent. The only recurring item we sell is Unlimited Edits at $12.99/yr, and that is purely about being able to change a page, never about keeping it visible. The $19.99 price you see elsewhere on the site is the flat price of an additional physical stone — added to your first order or bought later from your account — and it is not a subscription.
Do you offer anything for military veterans or first responders?
Yes. At checkout, choosing a Military or First Responder theme automatically includes a free first year of Unlimited Edits on that tribute — no charge today, and it only starts billing at $12.99/yr if you keep it into year two.
Is the tribute page public, or can I keep it private?
You choose, with a checkbox right in the page builder. Leave "Make this tribute publicly searchable" checked and the page can be found through our on-site search and by search engines. Uncheck it and the page is strictly private: the only ways in are a scan of its QR code or the direct link — nothing about it is listed or searchable. You can change that setting any time you have editing available.
Can I link two tribute pages together, like for spouses?
Yes — from the Edit Tribute page you can request to link one tribute to another (say, a spouse's), with a relationship label like Spouse or Sibling. The other page's owner has to approve the request before both pages show the link.
Can I buy a History Stone as a gift for someone else?
Yes. At checkout, choose "A gift for someone else" and enter their email — you're charged and the confirmation goes to you, but whoever signs in with the recipient's email builds and manages the actual tribute page.
What if my stone arrives broken or defective?
All sales are final, but if your History Stone arrives broken or defective, contact us within 14 days of receipt and we'll arrange a replacement once the damaged stone has been shipped back to us.
How much is shipping, and where do you ship from?
We ship from Northern Virginia. Shipping is a flat rate based on your zip code (roughly $5.99–$11.99 depending on distance), plus a small per-stone amount if you order more than one.
Can visitors leave a message on the tribute page?
Yes — every tribute page includes a guestbook where visitors can leave a message, which you can review from your account.
