Some of the best stories in this archive are the ones nobody was writing down. An Archivist writes them, puts their name on them, and they stay online permanently.

What it is

Most of MyHistoryStone is families writing about the people they lost. An Archivist writes about the rest: the mill that employed a whole town, the nurse nobody put a marker on, the disaster three newspapers spelled three different ways. You do the reading, you write the page, and it keeps your name on it.

What it includes

As many pages as you want to write, rather than one per account.
Your name on every page you write, and a profile that gathers them.
Up to sixty photographs on a page.
No thirty-day editing freeze. Come back and correct a page in five years if you find something better.
$49.99 a year.
It does not include a History Stone. If you want one, it costs what it costs anybody.

About the credit

When somebody orders a History Stone for a page you wrote, you receive $10 of credit toward your membership.

That is product credit. It does not expire, and it can be spent only on MyHistoryStone. We are not going to describe it as a wage or a business opportunity, because it is neither. Our guess is that most Archivists will do this because they want the page to exist.

What we ask

The standard the rest of the archive is written to, which does not bend:

True by all accounts. Where the sources disagree, the page says so rather than picking the tidier version.
Every fact comes from a source you actually read.
If you could not show the page to the family of the person it is about, it is written wrong.

A person reads your first three pages before they publish. Not to police your voice, which is the part we want. To check that the standard held.
